University of Oklahoma Headington Tennis Center
18 courts, 12 outdoor and 6 indoor. Laykold. Competitive public RFP. Six courts in play for the team through the whole program.
The project
The University of Oklahoma put the resurfacing of its entire tennis complex out to competitive bid in 2026: the 12 outdoor courts at the Headington Tennis Center and the 6 indoor courts at the Gregg Wadley facility. EliteTrax Sports Surfaces was awarded the contract in June 2026 and the courts were finished and in use for the fall season.
Scope
- Full acrylic resurfacing system in Laykold on all 18 courts and connecting paths
- Crack treatment and preparation on every court
- Red playing areas with green surrounds, matched indoor and outdoor
- OU marks stenciled to the University's specification
- Phased so six courts stayed available to the program throughout
What it took
An SEC program does not shut down for a contractor. The work was sequenced in phases around team use, with the indoor and outdoor scopes scheduled so the athletic department always had six courts. Oversight came from our Technical Director, Kevin Leach, CTCB, ASBA Certified Court Builder.
The outcome
On September 2, 2026 the University announced that the Headington and Wadley complex had been named a 2026 USTA Outstanding Facility. The award belongs to the University and its facility; we are glad the courts were ready for it.
OU Athletics and OU Procurement are both available as references for public and institutional buyers. Ask when you request a bid package.
